MI HOSTS AN OPEN TO THE PUBLIC TRIBUTE CONCERT FOR FAMILY, FRIENDS AND STUDENTS OF INSTRUCTOR ROGER BURN, WHO DIED MARCH 29
Famed Jazz Fusion Group The Yellowjackets Will
Perform At The April 24 Event
Musicians Institute (www.mi.edu) is sad to report that one of its own, veteran L.A. based musician and MI instructor Roger Burn, lost his two year battle with kidney cancer on March 29, 2009.
Roger’s dedication to his students and real world, tough love approach to teaching will be greatly missed.
On Friday, April 24, MI will host an open to the public tribute to Roger including performances by famed jazz fusion group the Yellowjackets and friends.
There will be a $10 donation at the door, a silent auction and Roger Burn and Shapes CDs for sale, with all proceeds going toward the Burn family’s medical expenses (please make checks payable to Ed Burn). The event begins at 8 p.m.
Another service for Roger will be held at noon on Wednesday, April 29 at the Westwood United Methodist Church, located at 10497 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90024
Since 1977, Musicians Institute (MI) has trained thousands of graduates for careers in every genre of contemporary music.
